Jonas Brothers Almost Interview for Soul Check TV

In 2006 or 2007, when Soul Check TV was online only (before it went on television), Soul Check TV had the possibility of interviewing the Jonas Brothers.

The Jonas Brothers had a new group named “Sons of Jonas.”

My family and I were living in Florida at the time and were considering traveling to GMA week in Nashville, TN, to film interviews for Soul Check TV.

I found out about the new Christian music group of three teenage brothers called “Sons of the Jonas” who would be there and available for interview. I thought this would be great for Soul Check TV’s audience – a group of three teenage brothers who claim to be Christians to have on the show to share their music and faith!

So I reached out to their contact and we were in talks about an interview for Soul Check TV in TN at GMA week.

But, my family and I decided not to make the drive from FL to TN. So we didn’t end up going…

Years later the Jonas Brothers rose in popularity on television, also known for professing to be Christians and wearing purity rings. I saw them in concert at the Staples Center in L.A. and also saw Nick on his first solo tour in Denver. My Mom encouraged me to ask Nick for an interview for Soul Check TV – but I didn’t. After the concert, we did see that Nick did an on-camera interview with a girl at the same concert we went to, so maybe he would have said yes? Later on in a documentary the Jonas Brothers said during that time they would say “yes” to every interview!

If I were to interview Nick and Joe today, what would I ask them? Maybe I would ask… did they ever truly accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior? If so, why have they strayed from faith in Jesus Christ and living a Christian lifestyle? Had they ever truly given their lives to God? What do they think about Heaven and eternity and giving an account before God on judgement day? I would ask in hopes that they would turn their hearts back to God and use their gifts and talents for serving Him. And also remind them of what Jesus says in Matthew 16:26, “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?”

The best thing parents can give their children is not to help their children become big stars, but to be true followers of Christ, for that’s what matters and lasts for eternity, for, “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?”
